fear of new things
Séverine Philippin BELGIUM
I started with the online training because the sudden reactions of my 8-year old gelding could sometimes have dangerous consequences for him and myself. He can be very unpredictable towards new objects, obstacles or situations. He’s easily stressed because of small, trivial things and then loses his concentration.
The communication with my horse has evolved a lot since I started with the TRT method. I’m not saying that he is now calm in all circumstances, but we both learn, step by step how to react differently when the pressure rises. To me the method helped me to develop a playing atmosphere with my horse. He’s much more concentrated on me and willing to play. Slowly the amount of “over” reactions are decreasing.
Based on the TRT method, I extended the principles on different funny exercises on the ground, like for example leg yielding on the diagonal. People are then very surprised, especially when I tell them it was easy to accomplish.
I didn’t know a lot about groundwork, but this training was a good starting point. The explanations and tools provided through this method are easy and quickly gave me the motivation to dedicate time to it. The method is easy to understand and the application is fairly simple from the moment you accept to allow yourself the time to follow all the steps and the horse the time to assimilate. But it’s worth doing it!
I’m very happy to have discovered the TRT method and of course recommend it to everyone who wishes to ameliorate the understanding and the connection with his horse.
