I started with the TRT method for one horse in particular. I wasn’t able to bring her along like I’ve been able to bring other horses along. I just felt like we didn’t understand each other. She had no interest in working. I didn’t want to go after her; people told me I had to beat her up, I need to do this, I need to do that. And I just try really not to be that type of person.
The TRT method has made it much better. My horse now has a lot more confidence in working with people. She’s always thinking and has a lot of energy so it’s a daily process. But I have some tools now. She went from me being barely able to ride her around the ring and now she’s making some half passes and flying changes.
What’s so wonderful about Tristan’s program is that it’s not only about solving a naughty horse or being able to work your horse on the ground. It’s totally comprehensive for our sport.
