It’s very important that the horse is very relaxed when I’m around him. Because when I’m in the wheelchair or on the scooter, I can’t have it that he’s scared. If I want to take him on the rein, besides me, I can do that now. Before, my horse Unique used to be really spooky, but as he has gotten older and also because of the TRT method, he’s not that spooky anymore.
I actually learnt the TRT method from my horse, because he had been taught the method already from my trainer Dorien. What I like about the method is that it comes from relaxation of the horse and that your horse understands what you’re asking.
