A horse at my riding stables was getting labelled naughty and was about to be sold. I enjoyed riding him and just felt he needed to learn to trust the humans more. I was looking for methods to help him with this and found the TRT method.
The problems at the start were noise sensitivity and evading work through focusing on distractions. I feel that the training has helped considerably in giving the horse the ‘skills’ to deal with what comes his way and me to make a better bond with him. I am super happy that I found the course. It has given me a greater knowledge and skills to deal with horses in general.
I feel many riders are just not aware of the benefits of ground work to help their ridden work. The basic training is very understandable and fairly simple to implement. Being quick enough to reward right behavior and give the release can sometimes be challenging.
